Luke Afb Base Exchange - A new era of facilities began on May 5 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the grand opening of the newly renovated Luke Air Force Base Interchange.
The Mission Support Group at Luke Air Force Base helped cut the ribbon with Exchange Western Region Vice President Robert Rice and Luke BX General Manager Aileen Beck. The $9.8 million project, with the cost split between the exchange and the facility, marks the 45-year-old facility's first renovation since 2007.

The exchange, not taxpayers, provided nearly $6 million of the project's cost, and the Air Force paid for the roof and air conditioning systems. Luke Exchange was previously updated in 1994 and 2007.
The 112-square-foot mall offers Trade-In privileges, tax-free shopping and military-exclusive pricing on goods and services to active-duty airmen, National Guard members, reservists, military, retirees, service-connected veterans. disabled and Ministry of Defense civilians.
Approximately 93,000 authorized shoppers who live in the Phoenix area will benefit from a state-of-the-art shopping experience while helping to improve the quality of life for those who call Luke Air Force Base home, as 100% of Exchange Income Support service members and their families;

The renovation includes new polished concrete floors in the main exchange, mall and food court, as well as new ceiling tiles and freshly painted walls decorated with exchange murals and signs. Additional improvements include new cash registers and an updated customer service area.
The updated Exchange is equipped with new energy-efficient features, including LED lighting, heating and air conditioning, and an energy management control system.

The mall houses the main BX with branded electronics, clothing, BE FIT gear and other general merchandise. The updated mall features a new DOCS dental clinic offering a full range of services including cleanings, orthodontics, x-rays and oral surgery. Other services include a new Avis Rental Car agency with cars available on site, a beauty salon, barber shop, optical and optometry shops, food court, dry cleaners, clothing exchange and equipment, and a medical supply store.
