There is no back or forelock on the 2011 Staccato grip module.There is a beavertail in this design just like the 1911 safety.
This is a very well designed tool for tailgating. With many 1911s I've made over the years, I've had trouble finding the safeties weak or feeling like the edges were a little sharp.
I had no problems with Staccato 2011; it steers well and feels good in the hand.

The general impression of Staccato 2011 is that it is a big gun. It's definitely a gun that you know is in your hands and if you're a small hand shooter I could see how that could be a problem.
That said, due to its ergonomics, even a shooter with small hands can probably access all the controls on this pistol with ease, except for the shutter release and magazine release.
If they are concerned about engaging in security and pulling the trigger, I don't think they will have a problem.

From the factory, the Staccato P comes with two sight designs: you can get it with a dovetail and a fiber optic front, or you can get a pistol with the DPO model, which I have.
From the factory, the gun came with a plate with a level installed. It had a fiber optic front and a dark rear. The sight is quite acceptable for a gun like this.
I was able to shoot them well during the course I had with the stock gun, but I wish Staccato had used a lighter fiber optic on the front of this gun.
If I were to keep the rifle in iron sights, I would have changed the scope to the .115 from Dawson Precision.

Staccato has different plates if you have a Staccato P DPO, so no problem you will find a red dot that fits this gun.
You can use RMR Holosun, RMRcc Holosun 509T - there are many deals that fit this gun. You can also install Aimpoint ACRO.
I used one of these because it's under the Staccato factory offering, but I'm not sure if I'll use it again. Mine came loose after 200 rounds and maybe 500 rounds of fire. I got an email from them offering to upgrade to the new version for less than half the price of the old version.
Personally, this bothers me because I feel that if they feel the need to provide that update to the customer, the customer should not be charged for the recall. In my defense, I never hurt myself.

If I had to do it all over again, I'd probably find a system to set up Dawson and go with that.
It's not a big deal because I would prefer anything dark. Not a fan of fiber optics I use the Trijicon RMR.

As I mentioned earlier, this gun has a rear grip safety and is ergonomic. There isn't much to say about it, but we can go into detail about the unique hand safety that this gun offers.
The 2011 Staccato ambidextrous safety is well designed and is the perfect safety for your 1911. There are no real edges on it anywhere and it fits perfectly on both sides.
The paddles themselves are fairly wide, although the safety on the left side sticks out a bit. It is the same width as the vane, but slightly enlarged to accommodate the piston mounted on the side of the gun.
It is very easy to put your thumb under it and push it back to make the gun safe again. I think Staccato did a great job with this gun considering the price.
