The extended height gives it another advantage over the Glock 43: room for more rounds. While the Glock 43 comes with a 6-round flush magazine, the 43x has an additional 4 rounds, bumping the rookie numbers up to 10 rounds with an unloaded magazine. When it comes to magazine capacity, bigger is always better and the 43x certainly delivers with 4 extra rounds.
You can always add an extended slide and/or magazine extension to your Glock 43 as there are many options on the market today. From pierce grips to shield arms, you're only limited by your budget.
The Glock 43x lacks the front serrations, but it also has an nPVD finish versus the standard nDLC Gen5 finish found on the Glock 43.
The verdict is on how nPVD stacks up compared to nDLC but hey, it sure looks good!

Separate one. In this context of others, let's compare the Glock 43 to the Glock 43X, a pair of subcompact single-stock pistols from the same manufacturer.
Glock pistols have a well-deserved reputation for quality, accuracy and reliability. They are known for their high ammo capacity, double stack magazines and polymer frames. Single-stock concealed carry pistols in 9mm weren't exactly their forte until April 14, 2015, when they released the Glock 43.

A slightly smaller single stock in 380 ACP called the G42 was followed by the G43. The main competition for the G43 at the time was the S&W M&P Shield series of pistols. The Shield was designed as a small carry pistol and Glock realized that was a segment of the market they needed to go after.
However, some G43 shooters had complaints about Glock's new carry pistol. That is, they found that the grip was too small. For some it was too narrow and for others the grip length was too short to shoot accurately and comfortably. A simple answer would be the addition of a magazine extension, which could optionally add an extra round to the magazine capacity, but what was needed was a longer grip.
Glock answered the call by producing the G43X. The slightly larger, single-stock concealed carry pistol has a longer grip and a 10-round magazine capacity, as opposed to the 6 found in the G43. So which is better? Learn more about the 43 and 43X below.
The names of these two pistols are so similar that they can be a little confusing to someone new to shooting or to the Glock family of firearms. However, they are different enough with their own unique advantages that it warrants a more detailed comparison.

Although the two Glock subcompact pistols look similar on the surface, the difference between the 43 and 43X is enough that, based on naming convention, it's best to go with a different number in the nomenclature rather than adding the Glock X.
As mentioned above, the G43 is a compact concealed carry pistol with a single battery magazine. It can be called a subcompact Glock because of its extremely small footprint. Barrel length is 3.41 inches and pistol approx 6.26 inches. The width is 1.08 inches and the height of this gun is 4.25 inches. It holds 6 rounds in the factory magazine and weighs 20.64 ounces.
In contrast, the slightly larger Glock 43X shares the same barrel length but has a slightly longer overall length of 6.05 inches. It has a longer slide length and is ¾ inch taller at 5.04 inches, as the 10-round magazine requires a slightly longer grip frame. It tips the scales at 23.07 ounces. The main noticeable difference is that the slide has an nPVD coating that gives it a silver finish as opposed to the flat black finish of the G43. However, Glock recently released the 43X with a black slide.
Both pistols lack the accessory rail that has been a mainstay on pretty much all Glock models for the past 20 years. This may have been done to increase the concealment factor of each pistol. However, some companies, such as Streamlight, offer visible white lights mounted on guns and visible lasers that wrap around the trigger guard. These allow the shooter the option of adding a compact and rugged weapon mounted light.

The new version of the 43X features an upgraded optical mounting plate. Currently the G43 has no such options.
The only major difference between the two pistols is that the 43X slide is milled with forward cocking serrations, while the G43 only has rear serrations milled into the slide. This is a great option for shooters who don't have the hand strength to pull the slide while only holding the rear sprockets. It's not a bad idea to conduct press checks, especially during a tactical pistol training class.
A byproduct of the larger G43X is the increased capacity of the factory charger. In this case, it's 10 rounds versus the G43's 6 round capacity. Note that magazines between the G43 and G43X are not interchangeable. So when you're looking for replacement magazines for a pistol, make sure you're getting the right magazine.
If you have large hands, the G43X's extra grip length with its long, high-capacity magazine may make sense.

Subcompact pistols like the G43 and G43X are not known as bikers due to their short sight radius, compact ergonomics, and relatively light weight. However, from reading reviews online or in various gun magazines, both of these pistols are quite accurate depending on the ammo and skill level of the shooter.
Average accuracy levels for both the G43 and G43X are 2-3 inches out to 50 feet. This can be improved by incorporating aftermarket triggers or a micro red dot sight, such as a Shield Systems sight that is small enough to discreetly mount on the straps of these compact pistols. Upgrade your Glock today by purchasing our aftermarket triggers and other upgrades.
Depending on the shooter, the differences in accuracy can be small or significant. A shooter with particularly large hands may find the 43X, with its slightly wider and longer grip, more accurate than the 43. A shooter with much shorter hands may find the opposite. In reality, most shooters probably won't notice any difference in terms of accuracy. With trial and error, this can mean borrowing a friend's gun for a field session or frequenting an indoor shooting range with a well-stocked rental department to determine the best fit for you.
Small guns like these are often unfairly criticized
